Oppo Vs Samsung 2023 – Which is Better?

by Tim Howard

Without doubt Samsung is leading the way with last year’s series of galaxy smartphones, the Galaxy S20 Ultra destroyed the competition with its amazing cameras that supported the Space Zoom function. 2021 Samsung brought it up a notch with the new S21 ultra that focused on improved image quality and image stabilization.

Now that the world has stepped into the three digit zoom, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo took to the drawing board and has designed an amazing smartphone the Find X3 Pro to give Samsung a run for its money.

The Find X3 Pro is a premium smartphone with a vibrant and colourful 120hz display supported by one of the fastest processors in the market and has proven to be a worthy rival for the Samsung S21 ultra.

If you are planning on purchasing a new smartphone with exceptional camera quality and features, this article will help you choose between the two best smartphones in the market. So let’s get started.

Oppo vs Samsung – Which is More Durable?

If we begin by looking at the materials used in each of their devices, we can see the companies’ different approaches. Oppo devices are crafted with a strong aluminum alloy for rigidity and durability. Meanwhile, Samsung devices typically use a combination of plastic and glass to protect their components. Some older Samsung models are made from a more durable plastic material rather than glass but, as these are more susceptible to scratches and scuffs, more recent models have switched to Gorilla Glass for improved protection.

While both Oppo and Samsung use tough materials to build their devices, they also go above and beyond with additional features to keep their phones safe. Oppo offers features such as a fingerprint reader and face recognition software to keep your phone secure, while Samsung has the Knox Suite, which provides a secure layer for your device and any applications you install. Both Oppo and Samsung also offer water resistance, which is a great way to protect your device from accidental water damage.

When it comes to overall durability, Oppo may have the edge over Samsung. Oppo’s aluminum bodies are more resistant to scratches and nicks than Samsung’s glass and plastic materials. Similarly, Oppo’s waterproof construction is designed to resist water damage – even if your device is submerged while swimming. Samsung’s water resistance rating is not quite as impressive as Oppo’s and could be unreliable in certain conditions.

Oppo vs Samsung – Which is Better for Gaming?

Oppo has been dominating the mobile world for quite some time, thanks to its state-of-the-art technology and sleek design. It has a flagship device, the Oppo Find X2 Pro, which has a 6.7 inch OLED display, 12GB RAM, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor. This gives its users fantastic visuals, smooth loading, and lag-free performance when playing games.

Plus, with an Adreno 650 GPU, you can play PC or console games with ease; not to mention that a huge 4,200 mAh battery means you won’t have to worry about your device dying while in the middle of an intense battle. Although it is slightly heavier than the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus, the Oppo Find X2 Pro still gives its users an incredible gaming experience.

First up is the ginormous 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O display, offering breathtaking colour and clarity, backed up by 24-bit HDR support, 1,200 nits peak brightness, and immense detail creating an eye-popping experience with every second you play.

Smooth performance comes through with the Samsung S22 Galaxy’s incredible 8-core processor, allowing for quick and effortless transitions between menus and applications. Plus, Samsung’s fast-charging battery and 5G connectivity provide plenty of juice for long gaming sessions with assured performance, meaning you can enjoy all the latest content even away from an electrical socket.

On the sound side of things, the Samsung S22 Galaxy is darn impressive. For one, it has the first ever Dolby Atmos-certified stereo speakers, delivering jaw-dropping sound quality that immerses you in your gaming experience. Meanwhile, the Samsung S22 Galaxy’s Dolby Headphone technology also enhances surround sound, allowing you to experience realistic hi-fidelity audio.

The Samsung S22 Galaxy even features plenty of intuitive gaming features. All the latest games support its 180 Hz touch-sensing capability, allowing you to perfectly control your character while barely lifting a finger. An improved Cooling System also prevents much of the overheating that can come with heavy gaming, meaning you’re not subjected to long loading times or extreme lag.

In conclusion, the Samsung S22 Galaxy is without a doubt an excellent choice for gaming. With its generous display and processor, fast-charging battery and 5G connectivity, certified speakers and headphones, and intuitive gaming features, it’s well-suited to any lover of the digital entertainment space – no matter what kind of goals they’re looking to achieve.

Design

Oppo has really outdone themselves with the design of the new Find X3 Pro, a classy glass back and metal frame feels solid in the hand and has premium built quality.

Oppo Vs Samsung

The back of the phone houses the camera that gently rises above the glass body on the top left corner of the phone.

The front screen is curved on all sides for a comfortable hold and viewing angles with small bezels.

A punch-hole camera in the top left corner is positioned for the perfect front view when taking selfies. Overall this phone feels good in your palm when holding and using it.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra also houses a strong sturdy glass on the back of the phone around a metal frame for extra support.

Samsung S21 Ultra

The camera pops out of the phone body in a different shape with a block design that is bigger than the Find X3 Pro’s camera design.

The curved screen is much like the Find X3 Pro screen design with small bezels but the punch-hole camera is in the centre unlike the Oppo that provides a different perspective when viewing both front cameras.

Weight

If you look at the above image of the phones, there isn’t much difference in the external design, but the weight and dimensions speak differently.

The Oppo Find X3 Pro weighs about 193g, almost 34g less than the Samsung S21 Ultra that weighs 227g. The dimensions on the Samsung are 165.1X75.6X8.9mm which is quite thick compared to the Oppo Find X3.

Winner :- if light and sturdy is your thing the Oppo’s light body and strong build takes the cake but if you’re like me that likes a solid phone feel in your hand the samsung S21 ultra sure does feel premium.

Colours Available

The Galaxy S21 Ultra has incorporated Phantom colors that are available in Phantom Titanium, Phantom Black, Phantom Brown, Phantom Navy and Phantom Silver.

The Oppo Find X3 Pro comes in classic colors of  glossy black and blue shades that don’t look too bad either but could have two more options is what I feel.

Winner : Samsung for a variety of stylish colors.

Comfort and Fit

Both the phones have curved edges that make the phones feel comfortable in your palms, but the Samsung S21 ultra weighs more and has bigger dimensions than the Oppo Find X3 Pro.

I’ve noticed that the Oppo’s back camera gentle lift feels a part of the design and fits comfortably in my front pocket. But the Samsung Ultra S21 camera pops out which gets caught when putting the phone in the front pockets that might cause damage to the phone.

Winner – Oppo has a lighter body and smaller dimensions and they went in the right direction with the gentle curved lift for the camera that feels good and comfortable when using it.

Both the phones are power houses with amazing computing and processing power, there are few differences that set them apart from each other. You’d be surprised how similar both these smartphones are.

Fingerprint Scanner

Both phones have an In-screen fingerprint scanner, I found both phones unlock almost immediately but the oppo felt slower compared to the samsung.

Galaxy S21 Ultra provides much better zooming in when trying to capture subjects from a distance. But Oppo stands out for its microlens that samsung does not have in its rear camera features.

Winner – Samsung wins with its 8K video recording quality which is double the clarity Oppo offers.

Battery Life

The Oppo Find X3 Pro has a 4,500mAh battery while the Galaxy S21 Ultra has a larger 5,000mAh battery. Oppo supports 65W fast charging, this is where the samsung falls short as it has only 25W taking longer to juice up.

When it comes to camera quality and capturing images samsung is your best choice.
